In Saudi Arabia it’s very hard to get accepted into medical school— but it’s harder here.

Sara was a medical school student at the best university in Saudi Arabia. She studied there for one year and received a scholarship which allowed her to study at a medical school in Korea. She was originally told that she would just need to study Korean for six months, and then she could apply to a prestigious medical school in Seoul. Medical schools in Seoul rejected her first batch of applications, but she continued to study Korean to apply again the following year. Thus far, she has studied Korean for about a year and a half, completing level one through five (out of six) at Korea University’s Korean Language Center and placing into level five (out of six) on the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK).
