HKC Kitchen: Acai Bowls

Confession: Acai bowls are not Hawaiian.

This Brazilian dish has curiously woven its way into Hawaiʻi’s local culture and for many Korean visitors, Acai bowls have become synonymous with Hawaiʻi.

This week, Kai and Kwan are back with another episode of HKC Kitchen featuring a new special guest, Michael Choe. An avid food blogger hailing from the island of Oʻahu, Michael has enjoyed his fair share of acai bowls. Joining Kai and Kwan in an Acai bowl tutorial, Michael quickly learns that the art of “Açaí na tigela” (Acai in a bowl), isn’t as simple as it may seem.
