SOCIAL MEDIA SPECIALIST
Are you deeply immersed in media culture? Are you interested in social media marketing or cross-cultural communications?
If so, HKC is now looking for a motivated individual who will be responsible for managing its social media platforms and building marketing strategies. As the Social Media Specialist, you will have to work in close coordination with leadership and reach out to those who are interested in HKC’s goals and activities.
This would be a good opportunity for the successful candidate to develop knowledge of digital marketing and engagement techniques, as well as teamwork experience by contributing to and furthering the successful social media outreach of HKC.
This position requires approximately 3-5 hours per week, and successful candidates will be able to make at least a six-month commitment to the role.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Social media management: Responsible for developing content and engaging with our audience on one of HKC’s social media sites, e.g. Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Youtube.
Social media marketing: Must stay at the leading edge of social media trends, so we can create a marketing strategy that generates inbound leads, gains followers, and creates a positive image for HKC;
Social media marketing evaluation: Responsible for regularly evaluating the success of our marketing efforts by analyzing data and for giving updates to other officers, and tweaking our marketing strategy as needed.
Eligibility and Requirements:
Interest in cross-cultural engagement, U.S.-Korea bilateral relationship, and Korean society;
Knowledge in marketing strategies and various kinds of social media (e.g. Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Youtube);
Creative and quantitative analytical skills;
Strong communication skills to work as a team through online & offline meetings;
Interest in or connection to Hawaii is a plus.
